What is the IB?
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) has become increasingly popular and for good reason. The focus on global citizenship, the broadness of subjects and the emphasis on diversity has attracted a lot of students and schools to take the IB Diploma Programme.
Diploma Programme students study language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, science, maths and the arts. The three elements of the IB Diploma Programme are theory of knowledge, the independent extended essay of 4,000 words and CAS: creativity, activity and service.
What is CAS?
In the DP, students complete unassessed projects that they have free reign to choose, targeting three areas of development:
Creativity
Activity
Service

Think of something you care about, then see if you can improve a cause related to it. There are so many ways you can devote yourself to a cause and also work on personal development, but we believe that going abroad has countless benefits for students.
If you care about the environment…Trash Rehash trip in Cambodia
It’s in the name – you can do the whole upcycling process here, from collecting old plastic bags to sanitising them, then “rehashing” them into a bracelet or keyring you can take home. Trash Rehash is a seriously incredible cause. Not only does it address sustainability, it also employs disadvantaged women and teaches them new skills. This one’s for those who really want to be a responsible global citizen.
